Description
Design
This mug features the bold law school phrase "Lawyer in progress / Loading... / PLEASE WAIT" paired with a hand-drawn progress bar that has only made it roughly 60% of the way across. It’s a law student coffee mug for anyone deep in casebooks and outlines who isn’t allowed to call themselves a lawyer yet, and the joke lands because the finish line is real but still some distance off.
The artwork stacks five centred lines of hand-drawn marker lettering: "Lawyer" in large uneven brush strokes, "in progress" much smaller beneath it, then the sketched loading bar filled to about 60%, then "Loading..." and "PLEASE WAIT" closing out the stack. There’s no other icon, border or secondary graphic — just the lettering and that unfinished bar doing all the work. The slightly wobbly strokes keep this lawyer in progress mug looking drawn by hand rather than set by committee.
It suits 8am property law lectures, library all-nighters and the third coffee of a bar prep afternoon. A good coffee mug for a law student is one that makes them laugh about the slog instead of hiding from it, which makes this lawyer loading mug a solid pick for anyone counting down to qualification.
Perfect Gift For
- Law students for birthdays, 1L starter kits or exam-season care packages
- Future lawyers waiting on bar results or heading into a final year
- Friends and family of a law student looking for lawyer in progress gifts for Christmas or a milestone
If you’re wondering what to give someone who’s still in law school and not a lawyer yet, this law school mug names exactly where they are — mid-journey, still loading — without pretending they’ve already passed. This ceramic mug is also a good law school graduation gift, because it marks the milestone while the bar exam is still ahead rather than calling the job done early.
