Design
This mug features the bold legal phrase "Motion to Celebrate" paired with a two-pan balance scale of justice. It’s made for lawyers, attorneys, paralegals and law students — a "motion" is the formal request a lawyer files in court, so on a lawyer mug the wording reads as a request filed to throw a party, and the court has already granted it.
The three words stack on three lines — Motion, to, Celebrate — in a heavy brush-script italic with thick-to-thin stroke contrast and long swash entry strokes on the capital M and the capital C. The first and last words run large and nearly equal in width, while the smaller "to" sits left of centre on the middle line in the same script. Just to its right stands the balance scale in warm golden amber with a lightly mottled, distressed texture, its column and footed pedestal cutting down through that line and its crossbar holding two open pans on fine suspension lines.
It holds coffee through a long document review, sits well on a desk during deposition prep, and comes back out when the verdict lands the right way. This 11 oz ceramic mug is a funny gift for the attorney who argues for a living and still wants to clock out on time.
